Using exciting new digital tools developed by READ-IT this pilot project explores the reading memories and contemporary reading habits of readers in Croatia. Maya is leading on a collaborative workshop and outreach strands, enabling the project to reach broad audiences. The project is the result of a collaboration between the Open University's Faculty of Arts and Social Science (Dr. Shafquat Towheed and Dr Alessio Antonini) and the Remembering Literature in Everyday Life project (PoKUS) based at Zagreb University, Croatia.

August 2022 is the 50th anniversary of the expulsion order issued by Idi Amin, in 1972, to the South Asian population of Uganda. Amin gave the country’s large and successful South Asian community just 90 days to leave Uganda, with few belongings.

2022 also marks 75 years since the partition of undivided India. To commemorate these two anniversaries, Maya is leading the National Lottery Heritage Fund project Hidden Heritages Cambridgeshire.
Maya is also collaborating with various organisations to commemorate these life-changing and terrible events. She is a member of the Steering Group for the commemorations led by the The India Overseas Trust.

GATEKEEPER is a EUH2020 flagship project. Through the project a breakthrough app has been designed to matchmake requests for caregiving support and volunteer work in the local community. Maya's role in a new collaboration with Dr Alessio Antonini and the Knowledge Media Institute (The Open University) oscillates around the collection of rich qualitative data through a cross-disciplinary approach. Together they will experiment with a humanities approach to narrative-based impact collection, in a technology innovation project.
